Hello Jak, I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed watching you dance with Mariela last night. It was like watching two masters fencing; I think that is the only way to describe it. Last night I had said you two played Chess on the floor, but it was more emotional than Chess, much more like the lunge and parry and instantaneous physical response that each of your movements generated in the other dancer, so much more like really excellent swordplay!

Talk about “connection” between dancers, I wish I’d had a camcorder, I don’t think that I’ve ever watched any other partner that I’ve seen you dance with that seemed as connected as did Mariela last night. I used to think that the performance that you did for the “Turkish Night” at Ballroom on Fifth Avenue, with Virginia Kelly a few years ago was my favorite, but last night was exceptional.

OK, just don’t do it like that any more because it just makes the rest of us “mere mortals” feel like we should just go home and try to learn woodworking or something! - Dennis  Farley

Just wanted to let you know that I attended the Turca a la Tango in DC. I have seen Metin dance several times before and have always appreciated what a wonderful dancer and teacher he is but I just wanted to let you know what an impact your dancing had on me. I have never seen you dance before and it was absolutely magical. Congratulations on a wonderful event . - Linda Lucas
